I am doing a Sasquatch painting for a show at Annex Comics in Newport, Rhode Island. (February 28, 2014 - March 31, 2014.) I thought it would be fun to share the process.
First I cut out a drawing that I did on tracing paper. It gave me an idea of size and shape for the canvas and frame I had available.
Then I used acrylic paint sort of like watercolor paint to do a nice wash of the trees in the background. As I began blocking in the color, I wanted to highlight the flesh tones first, then moved on to white, Payne's Gray, and browns.
